Being the leading Engineering company in UAE, Technomax offers diaphragm Pumps in the UAE and other parts of the middle east. We believe in delivering the best to our customers – whether it’s products or service. When it comes to industrial pumps, we recommend, stock, and deliver the Yamada Air Operated Double Diaphragm pumps to ensure our customers get the advantage of superior Japanese technology and quality. We can provide Yamada pumps for numerous pumping needs of our customers; they can also choose the type of body they want: polypropylene, aluminum, or stainless steel. There are eight types of diaphragm materials – like NBR. PTFE, EDPM, and so on. The latest and probably the most durable among them is the Teflon TU diaphragm, designed to withstand a lot of rough handling and run for longer duration than most.
Yamada AODD powder pumps are capable of pumping bulk solids efficiently, ensuring safety in the transfer process. They are capable of transferring fine-grained dry powders that are not high density, consistently, and the operation is dust free. The PTFE check balls guard against sticky powders.

Diaphragm Pump Technology
Air valve technology
At the core of the air-powered double diaphragm pump, is the proprietary Yamada air valve technology. The company has three patents on this valve which has been tried and tested, and so has a reputation of a superior technology all across the industry. The NDP pump series make use of fully unlubricated primary air valve and individual pilot devices to manage the air logic. This C-spool enables the product to operate independently of a stall throughout its life.
Working of the AODD Pump Air Valve C-Spool
The compressed air that fills the pump is routed to a particular side through the primary air valve; which side it is directed to depends on the C-spool’s position. This air in the chamber pushes the diaphragm outwards, forcing the fluid out of the discharge ball valve. Now the inlet ball valve on the opposite side is loaded. When the diaphragm moves outward, the opposite side diaphragm that is connected to this one, pulls it inwards. When it moves a complete stroke, it touches the pilot valve to depress it, and breaks the seal and opens the exhaust port. The compressed air flows from the rear of the air valve to the exhaust through the open part. This creates a drop in pressure, causing the primary air valve to shift, and the entire motion is repeated on the opposite side.
In a nutshell are the main technology components of Yamada Diaphram pumps:
- Air valve
- Pilot valve
- Leak proof, fully bolted mating surface
- Spring assisted, non-centering shifter (patented)
- Submersible, dry run, self-priming, shear sensitive, dead head, explosion proof
-
Rugged, Bolted Construction
Thanks to the bolted construction feature in AODD pumps, there is no leakage, and assembling the pump after maintenance becomes simple. This design is a huge improvement over clamp band retainers, which cause leakages. It is cumbersome and frustrating to perform maintenance and repairs on this as there tends to be a lot of misalignments.
-
Outside-Accessible Air Valve
It is possible to inspect, service and repair air valve in any AODD pump without disconnecting the pump from service. It is accessible from the outside, making it very easy to check and inspect.
-
Unified Air Valve Concept
The air valves are of the same size, and this eliminates confusion over inventory and spare parts.
-
Pilot Valve
The individual modular pilot valve is a unique feature in the Yamada AODD pumps, and it is this valve that activates the air valve. An inner central disk depresses the valve, leading to a drop in the pressure at one end of the air valve, prompting a shift to happen. As there are no lubricated dynamic o-rings that necessitate replacement or repair, and no awkward snap rings, this is a maintenance free valve, simplifying the working of the pump.
How Do Diaphragm Pumps Work?
Diaphragm pumps, also known as membrane pumps, operate on a fascinating principle. A flexible diaphragm, typically made of rubber or thermoplastic, undergoes repetitive flexing, creating a pulsating action. This pulsation propels the fluid through the pump, making diaphragm pumps ideal for handling viscous or abrasive substances with ease.
Advantages of Diaphragm Pumps
Diaphragm pumps boast several advantages. Their ability to handle a wide range of fluids, including corrosive and abrasive materials, makes them indispensable in industries like chemical processing. The seal-less design ensures minimal maintenance, reducing downtime and enhancing overall operational efficiency.
Applications Of Diaphragm Pump
- Ensuring Precision in Chemical Processing In the chemical industry, precision is paramount. Diaphragm pumps shine in this regard, offering a reliable solution for the transfer of chemicals without compromising their composition. The seal-less design prevents leaks, ensuring the safety of both processes and personnel.
- Wastewater Treatment Made Efficient Efficient wastewater treatment demands robust pumps capable of handling varied substances. Diaphragm pumps, with their ability to handle sludge and solids, play a crucial role in wastewater treatment plants, contributing to cleaner and safer environments.
- Diaphragm Pumps in Pharmaceutical Production In pharmaceutical manufacturing, maintaining the purity of substances is non-negotiable. Diaphragm pumps, with their hygienic design and material compatibility, ensure the integrity of pharmaceutical processes, meeting the stringent standards of the industry.
Pneumatic Pump: An Overview
An air operated double diaphragm pump is a pneumatic pump that uses a patented air valve that directs compressed air between two sides of the pump, back and forth. It can operate on regular compressed air, clean dry air, nitrogen, or even natural gas. An air operated double diaphragm pump is typically used where air is readily available, and the characteristics of the application are better suited for the technology. If you have solids, a thicker liquid, self-priming requirements, dry running potential, explosion proof specs, variable flow rates, shear sensitive liquids, something submerged, portability required, or the application calls for dead heading a diaphragm pump is an excellent choice.
Diaphragm Pump NDP Series pumps are the backbone of the industrial line of AODD pumps. A unique, patented air-valve design ensures stall-free operation throughout product life. For high solids content, higher viscosities present, wide ranges of pH, possible dry running conditions, variable flow rates, suction lift required or if you just want something portable NDP pump technology is an excellent choice. NDP Pumps can handle content like ultra-high purity chemicals, pharmaceuticals, alcoholic beverages, food products, higher viscosities, or solid contents (up to 40% by weight) are also possible with this technology. Pneumatic pumps are often used when transferring highly explosive liquids as they are easily grounded and are inherently safer being operated with compressed air.
Conclusion
Yamada pumps have no parts that are subject to wear-and-tear, and this makes them ideal for rough and heavy use over prolonged periods of time. They can even be submerged, with the exhaust line being run over the fluid line.
